Chuck the Truck's 52 Chevy - Ashes to ashes....

July 2017

And Rust to rust. A year ago, after an underside inspection, I decided the rust had won and any repairs would be palliative only, no major surgery. In hindsight, washing the truck more than once would have been a good idea. A trip down the silk-smooth I-80 (yeah, right) got an upper control arm bushing to clunking like a 70's Mustang. Put it up on Craigslist since the repair was more than routine maintenance. I immediately felt guilty and talked the first looker out of it. Number 2 wouldn't hear of it and made an offer. I countered and he accepted - truck sold. The good thing is he is young and strong with every intention of re-restoring the truck. That is my sole consolation. Naturally, we didn't last long without a truck. A nice 72 GMC is now in the drive as we get it dialed in as a daily driver.
